Nexenta®
The Nexenta® product family and services are:
- NexentaStor: The foundation for all Nexenta products is the core storage foundation. This product is required for all other products. Pricing is based on the amount of storage managed and the level of support desired (gold or silver).
- Nexenta offers two free versions of NexentaStor and one commercial version. If you are considering putting NexentaStor into production at your organization and would like to trial a version of NexentaStor you should select the Free Trial Edition.

- Nexenta Applications: These applications dramatically improve the management of storage or leverage the capabilities of other products. For example, Nexenta Pomona provides policy-based storage management capabilities that dramatically improve management across the entire Nexenta infrastructure. Also, the VM DataCenter (VMDC) Plugin simplifies the management of storage for VMware ESX servers and for Xen servers. Pricing varies for each application.
- Nexenta Plugins: These products provide add-on capabilities to the core storage platform. These capabilities can include improved operation with virtualization vendors, high availability, and more. Pricing varies by Plugin. For example, the Target 2.0 Plugin enables users to create block storage of any type (such as iSCSI or Fibre Channel) that can be accessed over a storage network by SCSI initiators.
- Nexenta Adapters: Adapters provide additional functionality and integration with 3rd party products. Adapters can interoperate independently from Plugins but also can provide enhanced functionality. Pricing varies by Adapter. For example, the Adapter for Citrix StorageLink can operate independently of the VMDC application but would be of maximum value when both the application and the adapter are installed together. The StorageLink Adapter is provided without charge.
- Implementation Services: Nexenta also provides Implementation Services to facilitate installation and customization of Nexenta products.
Nexenta Contributions to the Community
In addition to the core Nexenta products, a variety of other Plugins have been created by Nexenta and made available to the community. In general, these Plugins are available without fee. They can be viewed in our Downloads section.
