The appliance can still be used in the Active Directory environment with older versions of Windows Server 2008 domain controllers, including Windows Server 2008 SP1. The issue is currently "accepted" as OpenSolaris CR 6850508. One symptom of the issue is an error message "Client not found in Kerberos database". Please check your domain controller's version if this error shows up in the appliance's system log and/or on the console when attempting to join AD.
